Unloading mat and paper problem

I just received SCAL yesterday........have been playing with it and have a couple of questions. It cuts very slowly (I have the baby bug) and I have to turn my bug off and then back on in order to get my mat and paper to unload! Has anyone else esperienced this? Am I doing something wrong?

The recent versions have a setting under Edit/Preferences that allows you to change the cutting speed. Sometimes it can be the shape you are cutting because the program can see more to cut than you think is there. I have had that problem.
As far as unloading the paper, did you press Unload Paper on the machine. There is no setting on SCAL for that, only on the machine.
