help installing inkscape

I am having trouble with inkscape everytime I open it up it says the application has registered the runtime to terminate in an unusual way so I uninstalled it and try to reinstall it but it say it cant because the folder is not empty and anyone advise me how to reinstall it I dont know to much about computers so I need it in layman terms. thanks for any help.

search for the inkscape folder on your computer, once you find it, delete it & try again.

same thing happened to me :)

I dont know how to check for this i deleated the program and it is no longer on my computer so where do I check.

you should have a "start" button that you can click to search for programs.

right click that & then click "search".
a window will open & you can search for it that way. once you locate it, select & delete it.

if all else fails, turn off your computer & turn it on again :)

I was able to install inkscape but it is still giving me the same message the application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. what does that mean and how do I fix it.

Odd...... hmmmmmmmmmm....

Uninstall again.

Shut the computer completely off.

Wait a few minutes.

Turn the computer back on.

Download the file again.

Install.

Let us know what happens........

THANKS THANKS i DID THAT AND SO FAR IT IS WORKING FINE i WONDER WHAT CAUSED IT TO TO THAT.

I think the term is called 're-boot between installs'. Clears out the memory or some such thingy on the computer.
