Sky Cut V Model won't connect USB Port

Hello.
I'm just getting to setting up our Sky Cut V24 cutter. I bought SCAL 5 Pro last year when I bought the Sky Cut cutter.
When I go into cutter settings and go to test connection the machine doesn't respond at all. I've watched a couple of videos and followed what was there for the set up with USB and still nothing.
Any help would be much appreciated.
We're working in a MAC OS X environment with the latest version of the SCAL software.
