Hi,

I would like to make some snowflakes using the sliceform method. Does anyone know if the pieces are all the same? Is there a limit to how many pieces I would use?

Thanks for the link..I have seen all of the great stuff she does with sliceforms and I was hoping to learn how to create them myself.

As long as your design is symmetrical in all directions (like a snowflake) you can make 6 identical cuts (with the exception of the cut with the hanging loop).

If your design is not symmetrical, you will have 3 cuts that have 1 slot on top and 2 on the bottom, and three cuts that have 2 slots on top and 1 on the bottom.

Other things to note: the hanging loop is on a piece with 2 slots on top. Slide the middle 2 pieces together, then slide UP the other 2 pieces with 1 slot on top into the 2 slots on the bottom of the two pieces that are already combined. Then just add the remaining 2 pieces (which are the tricky ones that require bending).

I should note that these things might change on more complex designs, but those are beyond me.
