have the correct firmware? I'm have the Baby Bug, but since purchasing SCAL, can see the need for the larger one (wink!). I hate to buy it and have the firmware not be correct.

Actually the Walmart here in Ontario Canada has the Cricut Expression on for 299 dollars right now.. It was 399.. I good steal for in my area.

You can always update the firmware. For $188 (price in their BF ad) is too good to pass up. And yes you need the expression. I was reluctant to upgrade, but so glad I did.

If it doesn't have the correct firmware, upgrading isn't that hard to do.

I guess that would be equivalent to my DH having a pistol and upgrading to a rifle or shotgun. (heehee)

Download the free trial version of Design Studio. I think updating firmware is under the Help tab.

I got an Expression yesterday and it had the updated firmware so it was ready to roll.
