Connects but will not cut

Hi! I have SCAL 5 and a MAC. KNK Zing. I can connect the cutter, When I go to "set blade origin" the machine then powers up (makes an "I'm on noise")...I am able to move the laser head maybe 2-4 times with clicking the arrows... and then the machine will not respond. The laser head will no longer move no matter how many times I click on the arrows to try to move it. So I can not set the blade origin. Then when I press the button to cut my project nothing happens. I apologize if this is posted elsewhere, I did search for "will not cut/Knk" Thank you!
