Help in making a slot

Can someone please explain how I would go about cutting 2 slots in a dingbat font that would be able to just hold a card in place. Thanks.

The Cricut needs a closed path to cut, so technically it can't cut a line. To mimic this in SCAL, though, use the shapes tool and click on the square or rectangle, then make it as narrow as possible. You can use the handle with the rotation symbol to rotate the slot or type in an angle on the properties box when the rectangle is selected. Same goes for the size and position if you have trouble maneuvering with the handles.
