yellow rectangle cutting off my pattern

Post by scrappin mama »

Can someone tell me why sometimes I have a rectangle that is yellow? I didn't not notice the yellow rectangle until I cut my pattern. The rectangle cut off part of my pattern.

What am I doing wrong?

thank you for your help

The yellow rectangle is a bounding box. I usually don't work directly in SCAL, so the only time I have noticed any problems was when I imported an svg and then moved it too far outside the bounding box. Just watch when you move things that if you are moving the whole thing, that the yellow box is either hidden or moving with your objects. HTH

I've had that problem also... Heather, you said to make sure it is moving with you or it's hiden... I've tried that but I can't get it to move. Any suggestion what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

I've had that problem a couple times as well. I found that if I click away from the item I'm cutting (click on a different part of the mat) AFTER clicking on the view (magnifying glass) I don't get that yellow box. In other words, if you "view" the item then try to move it, you'll get that yellow box. Click away from it so the "view" is off and then you can move it without being restricted by the yellow box..........hope that makes sense!

I've only had it happen a couple of times, and I can't get it to do it right now. If I remember right, it happened when I had a really large svg file that I used the keyboard to reposition so that I could cut on two different mats. I think I clicked off the image to deselect it, then clicked on the image once and continued moving it. A little misalignment seems to be fine. It's when you get the svg image mostly outside the bounding box that there are problems. I don't think there are any problems at all with the bounding box if you work directly in SCAL.

I guess I will have to play around a little. I usually don't move things in SCAL. I have things ready to go in my SVG and only scale in SCAL. I learned this last February when I have a file cut all weird on me.
