IS THIS COMMON OR HAVE I DONE SOMETHING WRONG?

I haven't had problems with SCAL stop working but DSS or CDS stops working if I am running other programs or listenint to the internet radio .. which is why I had problems with CDS yesterday. I try and be smart and not have anything going when I cut with either program..

Like what other programs? I have run SCAL while Word, internet explorer, & CDS were all opened on my computer....and while it cuts, I have switched over to the internet to read or whatever...

Anything, if I am online, or word are the two I usually use a lot. I get a message that scal is not responding I close everything else and re ope scal and then have no problems. Also, do I have to buy cds vs just having trial mode in order to make my cricut cut faster from scal?

try to reinstall I have not had any problems at all like this and I have a million things running at once all the time

As far as I know you do not need a new activation code. I almost wonder if it's a RAM issue. If you computer is more than a few years old, you may want to read the requirements.

This is exactly what I was thinking....you might just need to buy and install more memory.

Getting the full version of CDS will not make your Cricut cut any faster unfortunately...seems to be an after effect of adding the welding and shadow feature to SCA but I'm sure Todd the developer is looking into it as he always does!

I have lots of things open in mine, but I notice that if I have larger programs open that cutting slows down. I would also guess that it is more due to the limitations of your computer.
My cutting speeds up if I have fewer things open, so if I care how fast I need to cut, then I close down other things.
