I just switched from Easy Cut to SCALP5. everything looks ok until I go to cut or draw. depending on the item I get leading and trailing lines. I have overcut set to 0. in SCAL5P2 the pen goes from start point to the 5 cutting through the arrow, on the Octagon it is leading and trailing cuts.
Anyone know if there is a setting or adjustment somewhere. (ignore the size difference. I didn't think to make exact size, but doesn't matter.)
This example is with a pen, because I already ruined a decal...

Even though you responded on Facebook that you figured it out, I thought I'd go ahead and answer here what you discovered. There are two Saga cutters available in SCAL's menu of cutters: Saga and Saga ARMS. The wrong one was selected in SCAL.
