Hello I am a new user to sca5, and I am looking for some help. Under a lot of my tabs like effect... three quarters of them are not highlighted and you cannot click on them. I registered the program bot I do not understand whys its like this?

In many cases, you need one or more shapes selected before the Effect can be applied. For those that are highlighted without anything selected, then pre-selection isn't needed.

Here's a link to my SCAL5 User Manual where you can get detailed steps on how to use all of these effects and other functions in SCAL. Feel free to post back with more questions if any of the sections in this UM do not help you achieve what you need to do.

Thank you for the quick reply I'm actually just trying my new machine and I'm trying just to write lettering and use the bridge effect but none of that stuff is highlighted when I click on the tab I don't know if maybe I need to upgrade to the pro version for that stuff or not

Not at all. Again, just look up in the user manual and then, after adding text to the screen AND selecting it, you should be able to use whatever functions work with text. Note that features in the Pro version of SCAL5 do not even show up in the regular version. Thus, everything you see in your SCAL works in one way or another.

Thank you again for your help. I am now trying to figure out how to do. Two or three layer design Any ideas where to get? Videos Or help with that? I have Found a few videos, but they're on pretty detailed designs. I'm just looking for something simple how to do two layers with registration marks. Well, have a great day and thanks again.

By registration marks, are you referring to a print & cut application (contour cutting) or are you referring to alignment marks as in vinyl cutting?

Also, do you own regular SCAL5 or SCAL5 Pro? And what brand/model of cutter? I want to make sure I provide you correctly information for your specific application and cutter.

Alignment marks for two colour vinyl application.I own scal 5 not pro and the cutter I'm using is a GCC Expert 2 LX with optical eye which I dont know what it for:-(. Thank you for your help. I'm new to this. Any help is appreciated.
