Hi

Winzip will not open it. You might want to check it.

Cheers

Thanks Tingha. I'm going to save it as a backup. Hopefully, I'll never have to use it. :D

once you update to the 1.32 it doesn't seem to let you use any of the older updates and blocks you from scal or even connecting...

I have had firmware version 1.32 for a long time and it works fine with SCAL ... but I have windows XP.

Yeah, once you have updated to the most current version, it won't let you go back to an older version. So the software I bought is completely useless from the get go.

That is so not true. Prior to the last SCAL release, I was changing the firmware on my Cricut machine depending on which software program I wanted to use. (If I wanted to use Design Studio, I'd update the firmware to the latest version -- then if I had wanted to use SCAL, I'd update the firmware to the previous version - and back to the latest version, etc.) You CAN change the firmware up or down as needed.)

However, the latest downloaded version of SCAL does work with the December 2008 update from Design Studio. You need to have SCAL version 1.016 (which is what you will actually be downloading when you click the download link here: http://www.craftedge.com/download/download.html, even though the link shows that it is for 1.015. Once you click the link, the file name will show it is for 1.016. Then you need to install the trial version of Design Studio from the December '08 update.

I'm not sure if the CD purchases of either software are the latest versions. I'd venture to guess that the Design Studio CDs are still the original version. (And I'm not sure if the SCAL software you've purchased was from a CD or a download from the Craft Edge website.) You can check the version of SCAL you have installed by going to Help > About when you are in SCAL. It should say 1.016 if you have the latest version.

I have an iMac desktop and the firmware on my Cricut is version 1.32 I just ordered SCAL but haven't received it to install it. Does anyone know if SCAL will work on my Mac with the 1.32 firmware on the Cricut?
