Skips portions of font

I've had an increasing problem of portions of my fonts missing. They are present when I do a cut preview, but the actual cut skips random parts of letters. Any ideas? I'm running SCAL2 on Windows 10 and using an older Cricut Expression with firmware v. 2.32. I'm adding a photo to try to help explain the problem. It's required a lot of patience and time with an Xacto knife and I'm so over it!
