Need help with SCAL 4Pro

Hi there, i have searched high and low on forums and YT and i just can't seem to figure it out. I was wondering if someone could help me please. I'm on a Mac. First questions is: how do i remove the white box that is around an image I have found on google. Second is I want to print and cut using scale 4 pro, I'm cutting with a SB cutter. Again this is a multi colored image, not just a black and white line art image. But I just want to cut the contour/around the image not all the intricate details of the image. But when I got to trace the image it traces ALL the details inside the picture:( so frustrating and would appreciate any help. TIA for your help:) I have seen the tutorial on here of the snowman image, which would be great but as I mentioned it does not help me with a the type of image i'm doing since it's not just line art:)
