Craft Edge

I was hoping that someone can help me with my scal2. It has decided to start cutting a line down the side of each page and just going over that line again and again until I stop it. I have been using it a lot lately as I am helping decorate for my daughters wedding. I have tried doing the reset of my cricut twice now and that worked for the first cut but then it went back to doing it again. It doesn't happen when I use the cartridges only in scal2 which of course I use the most. Is there anyone that has any ideas for a fix who would be willing to suggest something to help?

By the way, this happens when the blade is returning to the housing. It will stop before it goes all the way in and make this line. If I am trying to cut out more than one thing then it will cut out the first one and then try to go back to the housing and make the line.

Sorry, I don't think I've heard of that one before. I would look at anything new in your setup first, but it's possible that either your Cricut's USB port or brain are going bad. I haven't kept up with Cricut changes, but is there a Provo Craft option (without updating your firmware) to cut with your computer (like Design Studio) just to see if they talk to each other correctly?

Yes I can get it to cut from the cricut cartridges just fine but not with scal 2. I just deleted scal 2 off of my computer in an attempt to see if reinstalling it would help. I forgot that my cd isnt working and so now I have yet another problem...sigh. I am currently trying to get an answer from craftedge as to whether I can redownload it from their site with my serial number or not. As if the stress of weddings isnt enough...now this grrr. I wouldnt be surprised if something could be wrong with the brain though cause I have used it a ton in the last month. But perhaps not since the cartridge cutting is going fine but I rarely use those.

No, not a cartridge. Through the USB port on the back of the machine. More than one person on here has had their USB port in their Cricut go bad.

Oh, I see. Okay, I will check into that as soon as I get scal2 reinstalled. They may have something to do with the problem because awhile back I recall having to jiggle that wire around on the back. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Ok, I got my scal 2 back by doing a system restore and I put it into a different usb port but the problem remains. Do you think that I should just try replacing that cord?
