Craft Edge

I tried to follow instrutions but I can't get a circle on the canvas, tiny
little squares and circles appear and when I try and do any thing with them
it's straight lines and boxes

Try Control A, then click on any of the colors at the bottom of the window. You might also need to check Object/Fill and stroke. Make sure that the color is not transparent.
