New computer SCAL2 won't let me cut

I sure hope someone can help me. My business depends on me being able to use my Cricut & SCAL2 daily. We had to purchase a new computer yesterday - the other fried. On my new computer (using Windows8 if that matters), my Cricut says firmware version 2.1 like it should, but my SCAL program is saying 1.3 & won't let me cut. Terrified to do anything unless I know for sure. What do I do?

you may have a problem ith Win8 and n old version of scal2"
.contact support at CE and see if they can help. what vs of SCAL2 do you have?

Not exactly sure what version it is - is there a 2.029? That's the only number I am seeing. I have emailed them at tech support - hope to hear some good news soon.

You should try to update your scal2 to the latest version, which is 2.044. That has solved the problem for most people.
