I was trying to make a card with the name in it and had it all finished. Tried to cut it out and the rectangle for the actual outside of the card will not show up. I have done object to path a dozen times, but it still is not showing a stroke around the box. If you could help that would be great.
Thanks
Laura

Laura, if you post the SVG file that is giving you problems someone will surely diagnose your problem and help you solve it.
That's what this board is all about, HELPING each other.

When i saved it, I saved as inkscape svg is that correct? It does not have the inkscape logo on it when i pull up the file. Should i be saving it as something else? I am confused. Please help.

llb,
Let's check some basics.
When you save a file created in Inkscape it has the extension .svg.
When you want to view it in SCAL you File/IMPORT SVG file.
You may then save the project in SCAL and it will have the extension .scut.
When you want to open a .scut file you File/Open Project and select the .scut file.
I have folders for .svg files and for scut files so I don't mix them up and get the wrong one.
Forgive me if I'm asking the obvious questions but sometimes we catch little things this way.
Let me know what happens and we can go from there.

Hello:
My Inkscape files look like a little black mountain with a snow cap on top.. My Scut files look like a piece of paper with a corner folded down. Unsure, does mine look wrong. My svg files open fine in Inkscape and import fine in Scal. Would be nice to figure this one out for you. Sure wish we could see the file.

I believe it is a scut file. How did I save it as that. When i had it in inksape, I hit save and it showed that in should be svg file. When i tried to resave it as svg it stated i already had that file saved. If you let me know how to put the link here i can try.

Ok i tried to open it with open project and it says that there is something wrong with the file. It will open with import svg but then it will not show the outer rectangle of my card. I have tried it with another card and always the outside rectangle or circle is not apparent in when transfers to scal.
Thanks for all your help so far.

Hello:
Hi again. When you post your messages there is a place just below your post that says "If you wish to attach one or more files enter the detais below". Then all you do is go into browse and find your file you have saved and attach it you will see in between filename and browse it will show up as either jpg or svg or scut and then of course hit the add the file button then submit. I have a terrible time trying to figure out how to send a private message. It takes me forever. Most likely I'll never get the hang of it.
