Silhouette Cameo Cutting problem, top mat area not cutting.

Back in the day...Cricut Day,,,the virtual mat had a dotted line that was the farthest marking that could be used to cut. It was within the cutting area. So even though your mat was 12x12 using SCAL you could only cut 11.75x11,75.

So I was cutting on my Cameo and have noticed that there isn't that dotted area, so I took my graphic almost all the way up to the border. Well that was a mistake because the top didn't cut. Is there still a limitation?

I brought my graphic down and it did cut but I had to bring it down about 1/2 inch from the top.

Here are examples of what I'm talking about:

I hope I'm not totally mistaken and end up looking like a complete idiot. Let me preface by saying that I'm not that proficient in SCAL, but I thought the boundaries apply when you're doing a print & cut? If you do a preview, you will notice that you have to be within the boundaries. I just did a normal cut and I was able to take it all the way to the very top. Hope I'm making myself clear.

Thank you for your feedback and no you are not sounding like an idiot..I appreciate input... :D

The weird thing is this only affects the top in this example..maybe I should clarify I have the mat set horizontally with the mat arrow pointing to the left of the screen.

Here is what I have and the red rectangle is the No Cut Zone, at least that is what I have encountered.

You're absolutely right. I turned my mat around to horizontal and it cut off the top. Who knew? :o Well geez, maybe Craft Edge needs to take a look into this. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. On the other hand, it probably doesn't matter for me because I have to place the mat in the direction that I see literally or my mind gets all confused.

I think I just lied to you. It did cut off my top, but it was because my mat probably didn't go in right. It didn't cut off BELOW that cutting area you posted. I tried to cut it again and this is what I got. I think it cuts fine. I'm backing out of this thread now. I warned you.

I have found this as well in the past. I had to move my image away from the edges
as it is off when cutting from where my placement on the virtual mat was.

Cannot remember if it was the x or y. Will find my notes on it.

It's not only you. .I've encountered this with the SCAL3 as well. When I use my Silhouette designer software which I upgraded it works fine.. Of course I use both softwares..lol
