I used the snowflake from the Winter Library in SCAL. Just use scissors to place a tiny slit in the top and bottom of the frame and center to insert the center + pictures(that you will add)....this gets bent opposite to the frame.
This is a spin off of susanbluerobots creation.

My way of attaching the two is probably not like hers...but it seems to work fine.

Re: snowflake double frame(card)
Here I have adjusted the snowflake card to fit an A2 envy. You have to carefully remove the frame from the mat....very delicate. I hand scored the center to get a good fold. When folded, I placed the slits with scissors in the centers of the frame and insert.
Also pictured... is one I made utilizing another of the shapes from the 'swirls' library in SCAL. This is not included in the file. Just an example of how you can utilize SCAL shapes library.

Gj1 -- you just keep outdoing yourself. This is lovely (you know I enjoy doing cards). Thank you for this one.

gj1 This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I looked at Susan's fonts and none of them really grabbed me like this one does.

Re: snowflake double frame(card)
Love it!!! I've been playing around with her files also. I like the idea of using slots for the inserts. I'm going to use the four sections as my Christmas card this year. I've included my practice one.

Re: snowflake double frame(card)
I looked at your 'experiment' svg, and thought that it looked pretty neat how you were attaching the two parts. Did that work well?
I hand placed the images in Scal, around a frame and added the notches for the slots cut with scissors. It was easy enough, as opposed to using a font on path. Mine does not extend to the corners though. I could have used duplicate in scal to get good placement of the images, also.
Thanks for showing your project! BEAUTIFUL!

Re: snowflake double frame(card)
Every thing worked fine. The little extra on the side is used to glue the two double sections together. I just finished another one using your idea with the shapes library. I think it is easier to weld/merge everything together in SCAL than Inkscape. Here is my newest one. I used a shape from the swirl shapes and inverted it. One of the panels is darker because I folded it over. I really love your snowflake one. You could put snowmen on the panels!
