Help cutting vinyl with cricut expression

My vinyl cuts aren't coming out right, the blade seems to be skipping and instead of cutting a solid line the cut lines are coming out like they're perforated instead of completely cut through. Does that make sense? So instead of the excess vinyl peeling away easily I'm having to use my craft knife to cut through dotted spots. (cuts look like this ------ rather than this ________ :) )
I've changed my pressure, speed and blade settings and put a new blade in.
Ideas?!

I'm using my Cricut expression with Sure Cuts A Lot, and it was working fine until today after I changed my blade the first time.

Thanks!!

Are you sure the line style in Appearance panel is not a score line...check that, and the drop down box there to change if you need to. Select the image and then look at what it says the line is suppose to cut like...sometimes the score lines look like regular lines.

If it is not that, then maybe refer to the cutter manufacturer for reseting the machine.

Try a different blade (or even the old blade if that's the only other one you have) to see if you have a bad blade. I've had Cricut blades that were bad right from the start.

If you are using Cricut blades you should check out the Roland blades on Ebay. Roland 45 degree blades are the same as the PC blades, but usually a better quality and at a better price. If you cut paper/cardstock you should try the Roland 60 degree blades. They work much better on cardstock than the standard blade. They are comparable (but not the same) to the deep cut blades. HTH

Have you checked your settings... I have good luck with the pressure set to low and with the blade in position 3. I hope this helps.
