In Scal I use the pen tool and left click where I want the score to start and then take my finger off the mouse and go to where I want it to end and click...take finger off mouse and move cursor till box turns white and then use the keyboard enter button. Then go back to your arrow cursor in scal and it should put a box around the line and go to 'style' and change 'normal' to another in the drop down arrow area..

After all the scores lines are made, I group them all. You can actually change them all to dash lines at one time instead of each one. Do all the drawing of them, then group and change them all to dash lines. Right click on mouse to use 'hide' for the main part of the box, before grouping the score lines.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I did not explain well or if you have trouble.

I find that score lines are hard to grab after they are placed, so I usually make them longer than they need to be, and let them stick off the item if possible. Then I can easily grab the part that's sticking off to move it as needed. It doesn't matter if it scores a little bit off the item.

LOVE the box, by the way!
