Hi

The ** means that you have to also down load the USB drivers below. (scroll to the bottom of the down load screen you will see the two astixes and a link)
I run version 1.015 on vista and did not download the USB drivers and it works fine. Remember to run SCAL in XP mode in Vista. I can't remember the procedure to do that at the moment.

The other software you refer to is to package svg files into a SCAL library file. Not needed unless you want to add your ouwn shapes to the Library tab.
I haven't used it yet.

Hope that helps. :)

Hi I have just Googled and come up with the following for you.

Have a look at this link.
http://filext.com/faq/run_old_program_xp.php
Follow the procedure under the Windows Vista Heading on that page.

Basically in windows explorer, right click on the scal exe and choose Properties. From the Compatibility tab tick Run in compatibility mode then choose Windows XP service pack 2.
Hope that helps :)

No I am afraid you can't change your cut files to scal files.
You would have to remake them in SCAL or Inkscape unfortunately.
