Gel Pen Tree

I finally got around to trying using the pens to draw/cut. I'm pretty pleased for a first go. Very easy and alignment was perfect!
I'm a little disappointed that my Cri-Kits pens don't fit as I have the Full set but my GK use them so I guess they won't go to waste.
You can see dots where the pen started but I think once I get better at designing the lines I can work this out. But I have coupons for Staples so will need to get a pack of new pens.
What do you think? Next time I'll try text and see if I do better. I know this is me and not eCAL bu wanted to share in case you haven't tried it yet.

Awesome! I love it. So, did you just change from the pen to the cutter without unloading, and then cut it out after it drew it? And, you used a white pen? Very cool.

First you create the draw element, then the cut mat. You designate which element you want to draw and which to cut in the "appearance" menu. Then go through the cut menu and select cut/draw and the software guides you from there on. Load the mat, insert the pen and it draws, then it says insert the blade and you do and it cuts your mat around the drawn image.
BUT you do need to have the pen accessory kit that contains the special pen holder you use instead of the blade holder.
Easy Peasy
Oh, Cri-Kits now has the holder for the eclips.

Still learning HOW TO FISH with my eCAL and pens. Today's project was to use markers instead of gel pen. In this example I've done both so you can see the difference effects you can get. I have to do the gel pens on dark paper as I only have light gel pens (I'm gonna get to Staples one of these days.
The marker is from my grandkids stash and they are about the same diameter as a pencil or ball point pen. I haven't been able to get the fat ones into the holder. I have ordered the holder from cri-kits so then I will have a slew of colors to work with.
Any hoooo, learning is over for the day. Have you tried it yet or ordered your eclips?

You're really on a roll there Susan. Your projects are coming out great. I don't have enough patience lately to do anything but cut, and that's been getting on my nerves too.

There seems to be more interest in using pens to draw with scal. I am bumping this instead of recreating it. I like draw/cut when I can as you draw first, never remove the mat to cut I do not have the registration problem.

These look great Susan - love the swirls inside the objects - did you use spiro in Inkscape to create the swirls?
