Silhouette Cameo and CE mats

Well my Cameo finally arrived!
For anyone that has changed from a CE to Cameo be warned - the blade can virtually cut through the Cameo mat! Don't quite know what I did wrong but it started cutting off the paper and although I stopped the machine it did quite a bit of damage to my new mat even on blade setting 3.
So top tip! I have now cut down one of my very old 12 x 12 CE mats to match the Cameo one and now, no matter how many mistakes I make I can do so without ruining my new, and quite expensive, Cameo mat :)
Anybody out there with new Cameo willing to pass on tips? Have to say that the first few cuts have been great, considerably sharper than the CE but it is going to take this mentally challenged oldie a bit of time to get used to the more complicated setup!

Lol, I cut through my mat, too. Just have to try the old "less is more" until I get used to the settings. The mat isn't ruined though... Just used packing tape on the back to tape it together!

Why didn't I think of that?
10pm here in the UK - Think it's time to stop playing and get some sleep. Fortunately I have another half day tomorrow to play!

I got my Cameo yesterday & have cut alot!! My granddaughter is on a cheerleading team & on Sunday I am having a scrapping party so the girls 15 of them can do a LO with a few pics. Any way I cut out over 40 cheerleaders & 20 titles & shadow mats, 20 megaphones. And I am loving the cleaner cuts i am getting compared to CE. Tonight I cut a piece of chipboard a little thicker than a cereal box & it cut through grunge paper like butter. My blade was set at 9 on the chipboard & on 4 to cut c/s which was bazzill.
