Have you seen the new Cricut Commercial for the Expression-I just saw it last night don't know if it's been on for some time but, just thought I might share. Anyways there were some cool ideas on the commercial that I didn't even think of but, maybe others already know about this. They are using the cricut to cut out images and words on vinyl and sticking it on glass surfaces to use as a stencil- and using glass etching liquid to etch clear glass plates, mugs, wine glasses, anything glass! It was so awesome and would make a great gift too. So if anyone was short on time and wanted a personalized gift there's another reason to use your Cricut and SCAL.
Also there's a new "Deep cut blade" that can cut chipboard and make your own rubber stamps!!!

On TV? What kind of channel? That's cool! I do have the deep blade and like it although many others do not.

deep cut what? I havent had any luck with mine in fact my normal blade cuts more than the deep blade so am I doing anything wrong?

I do not have the deep cut blade, but you might check the setting of the blade once it is in. The regular blade has settings 0 - 6. If the deep cut blade has the same settings, you might check that yours is 6. Also be sure that the blade housing is set into the machine correctly. I originally had the regular blade housing in the arms too high and of course could cut nothing. Just a thought.

Why do many people not like the blade?

I guess this is a bit OT but it does refer to cutting what weve designed in SCAL

The product doesnt do what it is claimed to do........cut thicker cardstock and chipboard though "chipboard" in Australia maybe very different from US. Supposed to cut magnet material and make stamps using stamping rubber material which Im still waiting for my order to arrive

Be happy to hear from anyone on here that has it doing what they say it can.
I actually bought 60 degree blades from a sign maker and use these in my normal housing and it cuts a treat

I was under the impression that those items could be cut with the Expression - not the small Baby Bug. But don't quote me on that. It's just what I thought.

Check out the cricut messageboard under vinyl. There are lots of pics of things made with vinyl from glass blocks to wall sayings to car and boat decor. You don't need the deep blade to cut it. Lowes sells wall pops that a lot of people use and it works well. You can also buy it at other sites and some are listed there too.
