A basic open path is a line were the start and end points of the line are not joined. SCAL 2 can now cut a line with a single cut, like what you would do with a craft knife yourself.
In the past if you wanted to cut a line you needed to make it a closed path and what SCAL would do is treat it like a very thin rectangle cutting all sides of the thin rectangle.
Hope that helps
Cheers

Feeling dumb, but grateful. Thank you very much, I didn't think of that. I'll give it a try as soon as I can. This may open up so many more doors for me.
