Hi, i've just started using SCAL and I've got a child's name. It is a bubble syle lettering. Each letter is a layer of white with an under layer of black but I want to put it on a whole background of yellow so that it goes like a shadow round the whole name behind it. Can anyone tell me how I do this please. If i do the shadow effect it seems to go round each letter individually and makes them mishapen. Any help really appreciated. thank you

Do that mishappened shadow and put a box around all of it and then go PATH UNION and then with the arrow by the shadow key you can make that unionize shadow big or small. Hope this is enough explanation...if not, ask again.

Hi there, thanks for your reply. I've gone to appearance and put shadow rounded, and then put a box round it but when I go to path union "union" is greyed out so I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. thank you

If it's grayed out go to object/arrange and send your top layer to the back..

oops...forgot one important part...after first typing the letters...copy paste and pull the copy out of the way alone, do the shadow and size to overlapping edges, put box around all and go Ungroup, and then Union.

Sorry I want to learn how to do this too. Apparently I am thick in the head because I am just not getting it.

Could you write out a step by step instruction please. Thanks so much for helping.
