Craft Edge

I am trying to break apart a SVG file and I cannot seem to blackout the whole thing. I can separate it but when I go to delete parts it deletes the whole layer. If I color the whole thing black it still cuts the lines. I hope I am explaning this right.

Usually when you can't blackout the whole image, there is a part of the image that is not connected. Check it carefully along the outside of the image to make sure all lines are connected.
