Help converting DXF files

I am new to SCAL so bare with me. I am using this to cut templates for RC airplanes. I used trial version DWG to SVG Converter MX from
http://www.dwgtool.com/. It puts a "water mark" on svg file that is easily removed. Any way, I imported it and scaled to the size I need. Instead of a nice clean long cut the cutter leaves "weeding" connectors that are needed if you are using a wood cutting CNC machine. How do I find these extra connectors and remove them? I will attach an example of this. Thanks for any help.

Do you mean the extra nodes?? just click on the nodes tool and then after you click on the nodes tool click on your image. Then delete the nodes you don't need..

Ahhh now I see what you meant.. I notice some of the nodes are not connected.. If you have inkscape you can export that image as an svg and repair in inkscape and then bring back into SCAL.. I did this for you here. Also if you click on your image and go simplify and then preview?? you will see where a lot of your nodes aren't connected..

Jo-anne- what steps did you use in INK? I tried to do what you suggested when I first read the post and I couldn't do it so I gave up. Thanks for any info.

What I did was export the scut file to inkscape and then I used the paintbucket to fill in the image.. A lot easier than trying to find the nodes... I drew a square around the original file sent it to the back in inkscape and then used the paintbucket to fill the image..

Thanks I will download and give inkscape a try. I'm sure I will have more questions after that... LOL

When I export the next ones as svg and import into inkscape it just shows up as one big white square with dotted line around it. IE there is nothing from SCAL in the SVG file. I tried going back and drawing the selection square around what I wanted to export and doing it again but had the same results. What am I missing? Here is my svg I exported from SCAL.

Here is the screen shot of my SCAL at the time of the export.

It won't accept a fill color because none of them are closed shapes, just a lot of line segments. You can set a stroke on them by holding the shift key and clicking on any of the colors at the bottom of the window or by using View/Outlines. Pretty ugly to work with, the one shape I looked at was made of over 30 segments, and every one was grouped which means that every single segment would need to be ungrouped before any of the Path operations could be used. It would be much faster to just recreate the file than to try to ungroup and connect every line segment.
