Hi there,
I want to create a shadow or background to my objects in inkscape. Does anyone know how to do this. I tried to duplicate then make bigger but with detailed objects that just doesn't work.
Thanks as always!

I don't know how too yet but I am sure one of the smart ones will be around soon. But I want to let you know that there is an Inkscape forum that helps you learn it. It is run by a couple of ladies with personal cutters who has a lot of really smart friends. Here is the link if you want to check it out

You have four choices in Inkscape. Probably the easiest for beginners is to duplicate your vector then use Path/Outset until you like the size. I have a post
here on my blog with the basic info on three of the options.
Here is a video by Carolyn at Cutting Time on the fourth method.
