Inkscape paste problem (cross post)

I downloaded Inkscape .47 and I keep getting a runtime error message every time I copy and then try to paste something into it (atleast that's when I think the error occurs). I did google the problem and it seems this has happened before. I haven't found a cure for it so if anyone knows what I could do I could sure use the help. By the way, uninstalling and reinstalling did not help.I have a new laptop with Windows 7. Is there a way to get the old .46?
