I know this isn't out yet, but does anyone know if you can use the mats and blade housing for the cricut cake on the cricut expression? I'd hate to have to buy another machine to cut fondant.

People have cut fondant using their own cricut expressions... If you search on youtube you will find how it is done....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwEcEirFYc8

Thanks. I didn't find much info on utube but I found this blog that compares the cake to the expression. Awesome info and pics! Check it out!

That was a very cool blog. They also cut cheese and cookie dough along with frosting sheets and fondant. Pretty cool!

I have been thinking about clay, too. I would think as long as the clay was soft and thin enough, it would cut like the fondant. I have had lots of luck with the Sculpey bakable clay in the past. Soft, good price, can be super glued, and that stuff lasts forever! I have had a heart shaped piece in a snow globe filled with water for seven years, and it still looks like the day I made it. Now I've got to break out the ol' clay and get a noodle maker...
