Craft Edge

I am wanting to do a project but have no idea where to start. I want a cutout of the outline of the USA. Then I want to take my markers and draw in each state. I want to cut each state shape out by itself. This is a project like i have seen on motor homes and such. I would like to put the outline on the motor home and cut a state out for each one we travel in. I have vinyl and would cut the entire USA in a color like white and then each state we visit or go through in red or blue. I have a file from the internet of the USA outline with all the state drawn out but I have no idea how to break it apart enough to get my design done.........help please...

If you open it up in SCAL 2 just go to trace image.. open your jpeg if it's not already an svg.. then go to object/breakapart...

i believe there is a font with each state seperate. will try to remember and chk.
