Craft Edge

I have Inkscape on my computer here and work and at home so I can work on files here when I have free time. I am having an issue with Inkscape on my computer here at work (running XP) that I am not having with my computer at home (Vista).

On my work PC, when I open a jpeg, etc in Inkscape and trace it then save it as an SVG to import into SCAL2, the file shows up on my computer but when I go into SCAL to import it, it does not show up. I am also noticing that the file does not show the inkscape image above the file name, but that window box that you get when the computer does not know what program to open the file in. But if I cope a file I have done at home in Inkscape and save the new file over it, it saves just fine and I can open it in SCAL2 just fine.

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Do you have version .46 at home and .47 at work by any chance? .47 has some idiosynchrasies that we are just now finding workarounds for. One thing that helps is doing a path operation such as union or combine on all the parts before you save for import?

I have version.47 both on both computers. I will try a path operation before I save at work. That is why I find it so weird that I am having trouble at work but not at home.
