I am Lpretty new to surecuts alot. I don't know the term for what I want to do, but with script letters how do you make them come out in one piece without the little cuts between letters? I'm going to try to clarify myself, if I want to write LaDawn in script there will be a cut line between the a, w and n how do I remove this?

First make sure that the letters are overlapping and selected, then the easiest way is to select the Weld feature in the Appearance window. Another option is to use Object/Ungroup then select the letters again and use Path/Union. Path/Union is permanent and can't be undone except with Edit/Undo. HTH

Thanks, I found group/ungroup and weld. I still can't locate path. But I really appreciate the quick response

If you have the Windows version make sure that you have SCAL 2.010. Unfortunately CE hasn't updated the Mac version to the same features as the Windows version, and the Path operations were only in the Windows version.
