Hi, I have been lurking ever since I have thought about wanting a Expression. Now I have one and want to work on the scal before I buy. Here is my question/issue...
I know how to merge but am thinking specifically on the cupcake wrappers, How do I take outline art, say a butterfly and get the overlapping section from the outline edge of the original cupcake wrapper. I thought if I would group then break apart it might work but my break apart is not working that way :(
any ideas on the best way to do this. Is there a way to see all the nodes after grouping and delite the nodes individually? Am I making any sense?
I have a large Copam cutter that I have used for vinyl for several years so I am a bit familiar with this type of thin just not seeing what I need.
Any direction would be great help. Thank you

Not sure if this is what you need or not, but these instructions helped me remove a head from one file and feet from another then a body from another. So hopefully it is what you need.

Are you trying to make butterfly cut-outs in the wrapper, or make a butterfly mesh? If you are trying to make cut-outs see my tut in this post. http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopi ... =17&t=5233 It also has a pattern with some lines you can use to create curved patterns near the end of the posts. A mesh would be doable, but take several steps with Path/Difference and Path/Union. I have some tutorials on my blog explaining the different Path operations both in SCAL2 here and in Inkscape here.
