SCAL 2 is freezing up on me constantly due to my large amount of installed fonts. I have over 1,000 fonts installed. I know there are plenty that could be eliminated, I just don't have the time to do it right now.
Does anyone know how to manage them without having to manually go through them all? I really want to us my SCAL 2 without it constantly crashing  Please help!

The latest update of SCAL2 has the ability to temporarily open a font from within SCAL. So you can take any of those fonts you use for SCAL and put them in another folder that you'll be able to find and use them from there.

I actually have too many fonts also. How do I delete some? They would have to come off of my font supply for Microsaft Word wouldn't they? Barb

When I started downloading many of my fonts I was warned to be careful on what you delete, fonts I mean. Some of them were ment to work in in Windows and for them Windows software to work properly they will need the fonts that were originally installed by Microsoft. Unsure, this was many many years ago. I did however stay with that warning and don't unstall the fonts. Just cautious I guess ;)

go to Google and type in something like which fonts to delete or something of that nature. You can save your fonts in a file on your desktop like I do and only keep the fonts you need to run Windows in your computer's font file. does that make sense?

I have been working on moving my fonts to a flash drive. I found this site helpful for which fonts are essential for Windows. I thought I would store all my fonts except the ones needed; Hope it works out okay. The thing I am not sure of is...if you remove the font from Windows and then try to open a previous project that you used that font for....will the project be all scrambled without the font loaded? Does that make sense?

Anyway, it looks like all of us font lovers are in the same boat with SCAL2...lol....I have almost 2000 fonts to remove. yikes!

Oh....here is the site that may help you.... http://www.ellies-treasures.com/font%20 ... ttuts.html
Good Luck!
