I unpacked my new expression today and of course I was concerned about having to update the firmware, but it came with firmware 2.31. So I cabled it to my laptop and it works perfectly with both carts and SCAL. So now I just have to get all my scrapbooks done before my baby cricut and my new expression poop out on me. Well, I have always needed a deadline! And BTW - I have never taken the time to go through the SCAL tuts on this forum, but I started today and I have to say that they are so well done! To all the other newbies out there like me, really, (don't do like me) do the tuts! My hearty congratulations to the creators.

I think she's planning on buying one of the smaller machines that only takes 6 inch paper as that is all her budget allows at the moment. Keeping my fingers crossed for her.
