I had so much fun today trying out SCAL and downloading fonts and dingbats.
I cut a butterfly in a frame from http://www.houseoflime.com/ and it is fantastic. I am in love with this programme. Thanks to everyone here, so helpful, so much information to help a newbie and thanks for sharing.

Here's my stab at the hummingbird cut. I used chalk to color the background. I'll be making this into a card for my mom's 80th birthday.

wreed ..I love this cut and you did such a great job in coloring it. I also cut out the butterfly and made a card for my mil. I love hummingbird and butterflys. We get rufous hummers. This morning I watched 4 or 5 of them dive bombing at each other. They are very agressive and so fun to watch.

Wow, you all have done some beautiful work with that font. Couple of questions? Did it take forever to cut and did you have trouble getting it off the mat?

Thanks for the kind words.

It took a little while to cut - guessing maybe 15-20 mins. I don't like to use the highest speed, though. Yes, it is challenging to get it off of the mat. I use the large spatula tool available from cricuit and Wet Ones to remove gunk from the tool - it's a lifesaver! With this cut, and probably others, you have to kind of pick and choose what areas to pull off and what to keep. Some of the lines aren't obvious. Sure love the results though!
