depends on your cardstock if you still need to do multi cut I guess,certainly cuts stamping rubber with one cut.
No need to use them all the time the normal blade has a different angle 45 degrees and cuts thinner papers better
Im in oz to but bought mine ex USA ebay got 6 even with postage was cheaper than 2 blades in oz.

With the savings in price it might be worth grabbing the 45 degree ones also for standard work. Has anyone tried them?

yes I buy the 40 and 60 at once ex ebay USA. Id love to get the engraving blade but to date dont know the Roland size anyone any ideas?

I just purchased the 60 degree blades. Tried my first cut on some cereal box chipboard, and after 3 cuts, it still hasn't cut through it! I took the blade out, only to find that the tip had chipped off...hmmm. I used my regular blade housing and had my pressure at maximum and blade depth at 6. Maybe it was set too deep and broke off the tip??
I'm wondering WHAT SETTINGS DOES EVERYBODY USE WITH THE 60 DEGREE BLADE for a successful cut? I can cut through cereal box 3X with a regular blade and have it work fine.
I would sit and experiment, but I don't want to ruin all of my new blades if ya know what I mean.

You need a real sticky mat pressure max speed med blade 6 Ive never had to multicut

b, the Cricut web site says use depth of 6 on their official guide.(http://www.cricut.com/news/) Maybe your blade was broken to begin with.

I just tried it again with a new blade. Same thing. Tip broke off and didn't cut all the way through.

B, I hope you are wearing safety glasses with all those blade tips flying around. Sounds like the blades are not going all the way in the housing. Maybe the magnet that holds the blade in has has slipped out of place in the housing or something.

I am slightly confused too (not difficult for me, I know.... lol)
Are the Rolland blades used 'instead of' or 'as well as' cricut blades? what I mean is, are they used for other materials other than cardstock paper, then changed back to a cricut blade afterwards?
