Help! cutter keeps stopping mid-way

I had this problem with my Cougar. It would stop part way through, but only some of the time. I got a new USB cable and it works fine now. I think also sometimes the cables - the plug and the USB shake loose if using the machine a lot. So I would try a new USB or just check the plugs.

I am having the same issue now. I have had my sizzix for maybe 6-8 months. Now it is stoping midway during cuts and going back to its origin then it continues. The blade housing doesn't come down to make cuts on the mat! I have so much to do, Please help
