I had the same problem with a 1st Gen Sizzix Eclips machine that I purchased and received yesterday. Finally, after 3-4 hrs I fiddled with the two red buttons on the inside. The left button was stuck and very tight.I had to work it a loose. Once it loosened up I held both left and right buttons and the unit reset. Problem solved!!!
