Maybe DS has a failsafe feature that after so many used it will cut the lines. That way you are forced to buy it and not keep using the trial version. Just a thought.

Thanks for help - I haven't heard of that before and I haven't used CDS very much as I generally use SCAL but I particularly wanted to to the crib project.

I will have to see if someone on the Cricut messageboard has experienced the same problem.

I failed to add that if it's a CDS file, then SCAL shouldn't affect it.

Must've not been quite awake yet when I replied.
I know I apprently misread the first time, because I thought it was a SCAL project.
Sorry.

Anyway, I tried to log onto the cricut board, but it's down now.

I am really curious to know what the problem is.

I'm glad you mentioned that the messageboard was down on the Cricut form as I thought that was another problem I was experiencing!

The CDS trial lets you cut as much as you want using the cartridge(s) that came bundled with your machine, though, right? It shouldn't be a matter of the trial running out.

I hope you can find out what's causing those errant cuts.

I don't understand your problem? Are you still having the problem? Tehre is no 1.1 firmware on the Expression at all...it comes out of the box with a 2.0 firmware.

I couldn't tell if you were trying to cut with DSS or SCAL? You don't need DSS at all when using SCAL except to update the firmware before you start using SCAL. If you were already using SCAL, you should have been fine. As far as SCAL cutting slow, that can be changed thru the Edit>Preference menu

Need to know if you are trying to cut with DSS or SCAL

Am trying to cut with the trial version of CDS and the firmware is 1.01 - I have the little bug so not sure if I am getting the machines muddled up.

It is a cricut project of a crib that someone posted and cut perfectly previously when I used it. Since I was asked to do a firmware upgrade which didn't change anything but didn't allow me to continue until I had it has been curring straight lines through each project and pattern that I cut using the CDS.

I hope I have made that clear.
