I bought SCAL because I wanted to learn it, and to learn how to cut my own files. If I didn't then I would buy carts!. I would not abuse the forum and sell any design I received from here. So to all that has helped me learn, given me designs and has offered their expertise and time, Thank You. I am not confidant enough to do something good enough to sell yet! ,and anyway those of us in the UK can't buy half the stuff here that you guys do (tumblers, glass blocks, tiles). I think we have only just discovered electricity lol :D

I don't know but I honestly believe that if someone wanted to use some one else's designs to sell on glasses or what ever if they would just ask they would get permission. I probably would say yes but not on line sales or selling the file. But for local craft fairs and such
Good Manners go a long way

I would ask in a PM

I have just recently been naming the file that anyone shares with that person's name in the file itself....that way if I ever create something with it I can give credit to the designer. A lot of times it is impossible to know what origin a graphic or clipart came from. Personal use it probably would not matter if you knew who created said image. When you are a business, not talking a little craft show ect. but a real business and you advertise it would behoove a person to know exactly where, when, how and why particulars.

If I were advertising on the internet, I would not have pictures of graphics in my portfolio that I did not create...by having them in an online folder it appears to the general public that the site owner created said images when in fact they were most likely freely available on google, blogs, forums or whatever. You could however, in my opinion, have a photo of... say an acrylic mug with a vinyl design that is advertised for sale...just not a photo of the file that someone else created. If they are your own created images feel proud to state that fact in advertising, if not created by you also state the designer if known,...... if you don't know, you can also state in the description, something like I found this design online if you are the creator of this design please email me so I may obtain your permission to use your creation. It C.Y.A. by being forthright in advertising....and asking permission.

I am glad everyone has cleared the air, just wanted to add my 2 cents.

To use files that are posted by some else and you know that they are the designer email them first or pm them as you can always save a head ache. if it was made from a trace image from the internet there is no way they can say the own the copy write to it but there is one mis conception though because if it is posted here on this forum or many forum read the site terms before post once it is posted here or on another forum it becomes public domain and needs no concent from the original poster but it is alway nice if you do ask
This does not aply to item you go to blogs to get because these do not fallunder the public domain rule so a rule of thumb if you did not create the file or did not purchase it then do not use it for items for sale.
