Separating an image in inkscape

Have you tried checking your image to see if it does still trace even if it's not showing in that box.. I had this same thing happen but for some reason the image was still tracing.. It didn't show it though.. click your image then do trace image and then okay and then move your image of to the side to see if the image did trace..
