I think it is a cost cutting move in the newer Cuttlebugs. They used to come with the solid white ones and the replacement ones are still white.

well, darn it all, I got cheated! I didn't get an embossing green thingy with mine. I'm disappointed! I'm going to check the provo craft site and see if they sell them separately.

It isn't even posted on the provo craft site for the Cuttlebug.

TFS I just bought a Sizzix Big Shot...I'll be trying out your technique for making embossing folders!

LindaMac,
Sorry I didn't see this earlier. The green plate is not anything special for embossing. It is just a version of the A plate. Yours is probably solid and white.

Thank You! I just got the Robotz Cricut Cart and this will be perfect to go along with it. I don't know why they didn't design better gears for the cartridge.

Wow. My A Plate is flat and clear. I guess it wouldn't have to be solid, given the B or C plate would be the next in line. I bet it impresses your spacing plate used for embossing, doesn't it?

I love the gears! So, I've missed the magnet paper for embossing. I'll bet that does leave a clean line! Do you use vent covers, or buy the magnetic sheets? Where are the best prices for it? It's high at Wal*Mart here (the vast expanse of the only shopping we have for 30 miles).
