SCAL 1 not working. Please help!

I have not updated my firmware lately. I don't think that is the problem because I tried to used my program and my laptop on a friends cricut who also has SCAL and it said the same thing, Cricut cannot be found, that's why I think it must be the program.

Did you try reinstalling the USB driver?

Also, do you have a cartridge in your Cricut?
