Hi,
Yes they have replied but asking what o/s and version of firmware and made a few suggestions i.e usb lead may need replacing and that i shoud reinstall firmware having disabled and anti virus.
So last night after hours of frustration i managed to get i working consistantly after changing the compatibility a few times it seemed to like vista service pack 2 got up this morning and it asked for registraion details and when i clicked cut it asked for type of machine (so had forgotn that i' asked it to remember (does that make sense?!?!?)
So got up done as the email sugested switchd off firewall reinstaled firmware and still got a cricut that is switching itself off after a few seconds!
Why does this always appen to me?!?!?
Any ideas you kind people??

Re: Cricut shuts down after 2 seconds of cutting
I had the problems when I had Vista too, even tried XP but that wasn't helping much, the only help I can give you is to tell you that things are fine now I am using windows 7

Re: Cricut shuts down after 2 seconds of cutting
Stil trying to get this working, have tried chanin the compatibility.
Is there a problem that can be fixed when using windows 7?
some people seem able to use it and others not, did provocraft block the usage of SCAL? that seems lik the only reasonable explanation, as i have tried the cut many times now and it's going down at the same time.
Has anyone got any suggestion as to how i can test what the problem is?
So far i've figured it's not the cricut itself as this is cutting with carts perfectly.
TIA

Re: Cricut shuts down after 2 seconds of cutting
I have the baby bug and can't get it to cut with any version of SCAL2.
I have no problems using SCAL2 with my baby bug running on XP or Vista.
Since the problem is so wide spread with Win 7 64 bit users, and Craft Edge hasn't come up with a fix, I think Craft Edge should do the right thing and refund the money that Win 7 users paid who can't get the software to run on their machine. MTC does this as they know their software won't work on some Win 7 machines.
For all of you who haven't gotten the software to work and paid by credit card, file a dispute with your credit card company. Ask for a refund as the software claims it works on Win 7 64 bit computers, but obviously based on the wide number of complaints, it doesn't work for everyone.

Re: Cricut shuts down after 2 seconds of cutting
PC didn't block SCAL, there is a compatability/communications problem with Win7 and the Personal machine. It usually just freezes up though, it doesn't turn off the machine.missal wrote: some people seem able to use it and others not, did provocraft block the usage of SCAL? that seems lik the only reasonable explanation, as i have tried the cut many times now and it's going down at the same time.

If your machine is within warranty and you have the standard cart for it, I would focus on getting the Design Studio to work. Do Not under any circumstances tell PC that you have SCAL. The machine turning off sounds more like a machine problem than a program problem to me.
