how do I do it??

Post by JudeP1 »

Hello everyone, I hope someone can explain what I have to do. Whenever I download SVG files from this forum, I cant open them to use in scal. :o I am new to all this, so explanation would have to be detailed! LOL. After I download them, I am saving them in their own folder, but sometimes they dont appear in the folder. Also, what is Inkscape? I have downloaded that but dont know what to do with it. I know I sound as dumb as! LOL :D

Click on import when you want to load a svg file
Click open when you want to load a scut file

Have you checked out the SCAL video tutorials on the svgcuts.com blog or the ones on the Craftedge website? The videos will walk you step by step through each process in SCAL.

Inkscape is a free program you can download to trace images and edit nodes on svg files.

Also make sure that when you download svg files that your web browser isn't adding txt or xml to the end. SCAL won't recognize it if it does. Either change your download settings or rename the file after download so that it ends in .svg. HTH
